Karis Mabuki (played by Maqbul Mohamed)

Karis is bad but he's sexy and you can't help but love him.

He is unmarried and works in the bar for his father. He was educated abroad and moved back to Makutano to help his dad. Karis is an intelligent sleaze ball. He is a master class liar and with him, you never know what is true and what isn't.He tries to reform himself but his ways will never really change.

He is a spoilt boy because he was the only child in a loveless marriage. This is the main thing to blame for his selfish and egocentric attitude. He rarely takes responsibility for his actions.

Philip "PP" Baraka (played by Charles J. Ouda)

The youngest son of Mr. Hannington Baraka and grandson of Senior Chief Baraka.  He works on his father's farm and in this series he is becoming more independent anxious to be treated seriously by his father. He is strong, shy, not flashy, good looking in a rugged young way. He is humorous to those who know him. 

PP is an energetic guy who loves soccer and wants to take over the farm one day.

Penina Okodi A.K.A Mama Mboga (played by Naomi Kamau)

Mama Mboga runs a stall in the market. For a while, she run the cyber café with Albert but longed for the market life with Margaret and the other Market women. A former victim of an abusive husband, Mama Mboga is one of Makutano's most active and strongest characters. She is a member of the SIMSC at the school and was among the market women, who came together to bring down Snake's changa'a den, build the health centre and now form a Market Women's Association. Mama Mboga is strong; due to all the tragedy she has faced but still greets each day with a smile. She is Margaret's best friend and was the first to discover her HIV status. She was the rock, supporting Margaret through the tough times.

A hopeless gossip, she can't miss a good bit of gossip and pass it on willingly. She is smart, witty and shrewd. She is the true Makutano survivor.

Maspeedy (played by Onyango Owino)

No one knows where Maspeedy comes from but one thing is for sure, Makutano Junction now relies on him for all things milk related. He adores his job and will put as much effort into making silage as he will to chasing small Sharon. 

Everyone loves Maspeedy and Maspeedy loves all. He is superstitious and believes a lot of strange things, like ghosts. He gets to see a lot in Makutano, riding high on his iron horse.

He is kind hearted and is always hanging around with his three best friends.PP, his bicycle and Mvula, Mr. Baraka's top milker.

Washington Ambrose Roosevelt Kajiwe (played by Patrick Serro)

If a cat has nine lives, Washington has twelve!  Washington, has been a clinical officer, extorting funds from the people of Makutano as he ran a clinic, a Bishop and now a school teacher.

He enjoys a good card game and is not keen on women. He holds grudges and can be very  abrupt. He is very bright and uses his quick wits to manipulate those around him. 

Ananius Hosea Matano (played by Philip Luswata)

Mr Matano is Margaret's husband. He is a good man who adores his wife and is her rock as she deals with the fact that she is HIV positive. He loves children and and is the guardian of the orphan George and his siblings.

Matano is sharp, witty and no nonsense. He doesn't take rudeness and as he puts it ,"I'll show you my good manners if you how me yours." He is a romantic but a little nervous, as is seen with his relationship with Margaret.

Margaret (played by Carol Midimo)

Margaret is one of the market women. Her first husband  died of AIDS and then she discovered that she too is HIV+ . Now she has Matano and is a shining example of living positively with the virus.

Like her best friend Mama Mboga, she is a tough, strong woman although she does spend a lot of time worrying that Matano will be unfaithful to her.  She runs a stall in the market. Forever smiling she is supportive, caring, and a true Makutano woman.

Dr. Charles (played by Tony Njuguna)

Dr. Charles is brought into Makutano as the new Doctor at the Health Centre. 

He is charged with caring for the bodies of Makutano's residents and he has a daily fight to keep are just two of the many issues he confronts in his day to day fight to keep Makutano healthy and strong. He is a modern man and a big support for the chief when addressing issues such as men and reproductive health and female genital circumcision

He is handsome and straight forward.

Hope (Played by Regina Re)

Hope is bright and ambitious. So ambitious that she left her children with her mother while she made for the bright lights of Nairobi. 

Her brains and determination won her a nursing career and an important job with the UN. But now she’s returned in order to get to know her daughter and as a natural leader she has set her sights on sorting out Makutano Junction.

 She means well but sometimes insults people in her rush to achieve and improve.

Josiah Matchendere “Zico” (Played by Morrison Mwadulo)

Josiah is a former football star of Makutano. His career was brought to an abrupt end when he sustained a knee injury. 

Now he is a long distance lorry driver and Anna’s husband. He occasionally drops in to see his family when he is not on a trip. He has an insatiable appetite for sex and money, this is why he has so many children with Anna. Like all truck drivers it is believed he has many women along his routes. This makes Anna scared that she’ll one day catch the AIDS/HIV Virus. 

Josiah is frequently broke and most of the time steals from his wife to keep going. He is a bitter man, inwardly frustrated that he never really got to be what he wanted. He is conservative and traditional.

Dodgy.D. AKA Russel.T. (Played by Frobisher Lwanga)

Dodgy .D.'s real name is  Absalom Makucha, but he is so embarrassed by it that he will never tell anyone. He is the cousin of Ben the Rastaman barber. 

He has a fake American gangsta accent and always has a cigarette in his mouth, which he never smokes. His language, dress and drug use is all influenced by American music and films. Dodgy would love to come from the streets of Harlem but is in fact a small town Kenya boy.

Red (Played by Emily Wanjah)

Red is a talented young woman. She made her way to the bright lights of Nairobi hoping that her impressive singing talent would bring her fame and fortune....Unfortunately all didn't go to plan and now she's back in Makutano and is amongst people that care about her.

 She has returned to Makutano as a quieter and wiser Red and deals with issues such as testing for HIV with a brave attitude. She still remains the apple of PP's eye.
